2010 Race Update
(posted January 31, 2010) Welcome to the Coosa River Challenge VIII race site. I've updated the basics of the upcoming 2010 race and will be adding futher updates as the race gets closer. A couple of notable changes this year:
• Early registration through Mar 31 will be at a good discount, so if you know you want to come back and have some fun with us, sign up early. ($90 team/ $55 Individual)
• Registration will close on September 17, 2010, (two weeks prior to the event) because we fill up each year, this will help with the final preparations. So don't wait till the last minute and get left out.
Our sadistic race planners are already scheming some new challenges to keep making it better each year, so come and join us for another great CRC.

Mail-in Registration
What 3-6 hours of mountain biking, trail running, river paddling with lots of special tests throughout. The format is 2-person teams male/female/co-ed or individual and the course is friendly enough to be finished by the novice racer, while challenging enough for the veteran adventure racer. We expect the top teams to finish in about 3.5 hours with the majority of racers to have finished in 5 hours. The route incorporates the last of the whitewater of Alabama's major river systems and finishes in historic downtown Wetumpka.

Included in the registration fee is a pre-race meal for each participant (at the pre-race party Friday night). Non-participants may purchase a meal for $5.
NOTE: If racer numbers in certain groups dictate a need for a staggered start, groups will be flighted based on date of registration, (another reason to register early).
Want to see where you'll be racing??? Check out the virtual tour. This will be the trail for the opening run and bike. The opening view is the actual transition area. The race route won't be the exact route marked on the virtual tour but you'll get a good idea of what to expect.
Pre-Race Registration/Briefing get-together
Again this year we will be hosting a pre-race party of sorts at Coosa River Adventures [map]. All participants (and guests) are asked to attend to receive their bib numbers, goodie bags and free dinner. Check-in will begin at 4:00 pm (no day-of registrations). There will also be a meeting at around 7:00 pm to for questions and to go over the race rules and route.
